mahaboudha: located at okubahal at a 10 min walking distance from the patan durbar square this is first buddha temple of nepal constructed in “shikhar style” of architecture. every brick on the surface made of clay known as terracotta contains images of buddha. it was constructed in 15th century by abhay raj shakhya, great connoisseur of arts and crafts. it is also known as “temple of nine thousand buddhas” and syangtungu in the tibetan language. nearby there are shops selling metal statutes.
