surya binayak: located around 20 kms from kathmandu and 45 mins to 60 mins drive, this is one of four ganesh temples in the kathmandu valley. its unique architecture ensures that first rays of morning sun falls on the temple. on a clear sunny day excellent views of bhaktapur with snow peaks in the background can be seen from here. it is also a good picnic spot. this temple is especially crowded on tuesdays and saturdays. this is also starting point for trekking to lakuri bhanjyang and ranikot.
