mahendra cave: another of nature’s wonders in pokhara is the mahendra cave. it got its name due to the name of the former king of nepal, mahendra bir bikram shah dev. this large limestone cave is locally known as the house of bats. it is best to bring your own torch to see the stalactites and stalagmites, as well as the local winged residents. there is also a statue of lord shiva in the cave. it is recommended that visitors here take a guide.
