choki traditional art school (located in kabisa, thimphu): a classic example of bhutan’s fine tradition, here under privileged students from disadvantaged backgrounds are given scholarships. it was set up by dasho choki dorji in memory of the 4th king of bhutan. the school runs mainly on donation and proceeds from sale of crafts provides education, food and lodging to students that are free. here you can students painting, carving, and sculpting in traditional bhutanese style. here there is also an authentic gift shop, which sells products made by these students.
