the national textile museum / royal textile academy of bhutan (located in norzin lam, thimphu): the museum is located next to immigration office and was established in 2001 to preserve and promote the art of weaving, an important aspect of bhutanese culture and tradition under patronage of her majesty the queen mother, ashi sangay choden wangchuck. it showcases some of the best royal dresses and crowns, jewellery and armory with small introduction about bhutan’s kings. it also gives visitors a chance to see major weaving techniques and local style of dress.
