phobjikha valley: the valley lying at an altitude of 3000 m, it is one of the most beautiful glacial valleys in the himalayas and is a designated conservation area within jigme singye wangchuk national park (formerly black mountain national park). this valley is famous the black necked cranes that migrate here from tibetan plateau to avoid the extremely cold winters there. they usually arrive by mid of november and usually remain till end of february. this valley is also known as gangtey after the 17^th century monastery located here.
