gibbon wildlife sanctuary, known as hoollongapar gibbon sanctuary and a protected area was declared as a sanctuary on 30th july 1997. it is located about 19 kms from jorhat. it is the only sanctuary in india which is home to hoolock gibbons and the bengal slow loris. there are many evergreen trees and several other herbs and shrubs.
