by air – meghalaya’s only airport is in umroi which is around 35km from shillong which is not well connected to cities of india. as the connectivity is poor, tourist prefer to travel to gopinath bordoloi airport in guwahati which is 128 kms from shillong

by rail – there are no railway station in meghalaya and the closest railway station is in guwahati which is around 105 kms from shillong.

by road – meghalaya is well-connected to major cities through roads. nh40 connects guwahati to shillong.  the roads conditions are amooth and good which can be tricky to drive in monsoons. some of the roads get slowed down due to heavy rain.
