longtrok village

longtrok is a legendary village which is famous for its six stone structures.  the stones are also called sangtams and believed to be the personified forms of their ancient gods who gave birth to other stones that migrated to various other places. tsongliyangti, chungliyimti and chungliyangti are worshipped by all the villagers. it is about 60 kms from tuesang

  • the living stones is located 60 kms from tuensang, in village of longtrok. the word longtrok comes from the native language of nagas and means “6 stones” which has known as the living stones of tuensang. as per the belief of nagas these six stones or the sangtams are personification of their ancient holy gods who gave birth to other stones which moved to different places. here there are also objects of the tsongliyangti and chungliyangti civilisations. here tourists will also come across the roots of the ao tribe, one of the largest naga tribes who have walked these mountains for generations.
  • tsadang is an off beat destination longtrok village. it is well known for its two ancient stones who are believed to be friends who used to visit longtrek village together for decades together. these friends in the form of stones are worshipped by the locals.
