sela pass, an high altitude mountain pass at an altitude of 4,170 m is about 78 kms  from tawang. it is the lifeline for people of arunachal pradesh as connects tawang to the rest of the country. it is covered in snow for most part of the year and provides beautiful views of the eastern himalayan range. its rugged terrain hardly has any vegetation. it is also home sela lake which is considered to be sacred by the tribes staying here.
