festivals play an important part in the life of people here and are celebrated with lot of pomp and gaitey. number of festivals celebrated here, with some important ones being as below:

• kshyat sowai festival celebrated by khowas tribe in december/january, last for about 10 days with whole community taking part in the celebration here
• si donyi festival celebrated by tagins tribe is held in january and dedicated to sun and earth.
• pangsau pass winter festival held in january is a three day festival where people display handicrafts and handlooms from all over the state.
• torgya festival celebrated by monpas/sherdukpen held in january/ february in tawang monastery over three days.
• sangken festival of khampti tribe heldin february is one of the most important festival. it marks the beginning of new year.
• siang river festival is held to promote eco tourism. number of activities like rafting, elephant race and many more are part of this festival
• ziro music festival known as sunburn festival of arunachal pradesh is a four day festival enjoyed by music lovers from all over the world
• nyokum festival held by nyishi tribe in february is a two day festival.
