bomdila monastery, also known as gentse gaden rabgyel lling monastery, it was built in 1965. inside the monastery there is a huge prayer room and attracts lots of tourists and pilgrims. this monastery has three different parts. upper gompa, middle gompa and lower gompa. the monastery is believed to be an exact replica of tsona gontse monastery, tibet.

upper gompa located on hill top has a school to educate monk children, dwelling place of buddhist lamas, prayer halls and a temple of buddha in its premises

lower gompa is located in heart of town at the end of the main market area. there are prayer wheels here and is believed that spinning them fulfills the wishes.
