mechuka, a small town at an elevation of 6,000 ft is one of the lesser explored valleys in this himalayan region and is famous for its scenic beauty, tribal people and flowing rivers. the main attraction here is 400-year-old samten yongcha monastery of mahayana buddhist sect which houses numerous ancient statues, including guru padmasambhava’s. siang river flows through the town and adds to the beauty of the town. the other name for mechuka is menchukha. the valley is 29 km away from mcmahon line which separates india and china. it is 190 kms from aalo which is around 6 hours drive
