namdapha national park, this third largest national park in the country is a must visit for any wildlife and nature lover. within its vicinity it has rare and endangered animal and plant species. here we can find animals like snow leopard, leopard, and tiger. it is also a paradise for bird watchers having about 426 species. miao is the entry point of this national park. it was originally declared as a wildlife sanctuary in 1972, then a national park in 1983. in the same year it became a tiger reserve under the project tiger scheme. it is spread over an area of 1985 sq kms. miao forest museum is located near to the field director’s office in namdapha national park. in one of the rooms there are animal specimens which are collected from namdapha and its surrounding areas over years which includes snake and frog specimens, bird skins and skulls. another room displays village life of the local people.
