bhismaknaga fort, which is located around 30 kms from roing, is built from burnt bricks and is believed to date back to 8th century which makes it one of the most oldest archeological site of arunachal pradesh. the site was excavated between 1965-70. various historical items like potteries, terracotta figurines, terracotta plaques and decorative tiles were found during excavation. as per the belief rukmini, wife of lord krishna was believed to be from this bhishmaknagar region.

rukmini nati also called the chimiri fort is the ruins of the palace where princess rukmini, the daughter of king bhisma and the wife of lord krishna, lived. it is located about 12 km from roing. inspite being in ruins, the fort gives visitors a brief look into beautiful architecture of those times
