assam is best enjoyed during the period october to june. october to march are the winter months weather is pleasant and skies are clear. april to june are summers when the weather is not too hot or cold but humid. most of the national parks are open till the onset of monsoons which might be in june also. during july to september, it is better to avoid assam as there is hardly anything to do because of heavy rainfall.
