located about 35 km from guwahati in baihata chariali, madan kamdev, is famous for archeological ruins and durga temple which dates to around 10th century. the archeological site shows the might of pala dynasty. the complex is spread over a kilometer and has ruins of 13 temples. madan kamdev temple is the main temple dedicated to lord shiva and mata parvati. the sculptures on wall here portray erotic acts as seen in khajuraho temple of madhya pradesh. it is also famous as mini khajuraho of assam.
