sankardev kalakshetra museum, also known as kalakshetra, was named after medieval poet-playwright and reformer srimanta sankardeva. this is a non-profit cultural institution which has a museum, library and children’s park within the premises. there is also an open air theatre in the premises, where traditional dance and drama are performed. the main attraction is the museum which preserves some of traditional articles or artifacts of assamese culture.
