ugratara temple dedicated to mata sati is an important shakti temple which is visited by several devotees round the year. it was built by old ahom ruler, siva singh in 1725. the main sanctum does not have any idol but a small pit of water which is considered to be as goddess. navratri is the main festival celebrated in this temple. traditionally, the temple practices animal sacrifices to please the goddess.
