pobitora national park, home to one horned rhinoceros has the second highest concentration of one horned rhino after kaziranga national park. it is about 45 kms from guwahati. in 1987, the park was declared as a wildlife sanctuary covering area of 16 sq kms. besides rhinoceros, the other mammals found are like leopard, leopard cat, fishing cat etc., in winter, the park becomes a birder’s heaven, with thousands of waterfowl thronging the wetlands. the safari timings are as under:
