peseling goemba: this sacred monastery with rich historic values and is situated on a steep mountain which is a half day trek (3-4 hours).
tang valley: terton pema lingpa was born in the tang valley of bumthang. as the soil in this region is not so rich for agricultural activities, the people of this valley raise sheep and at higher elevation, yaks.
ugyenchholing palace (located in tang valley, bumthang): also known as ogyen chholing palace, this building houses the family museum and was restored in the 19th century. the palace contains the historic items of the then trongsa penelop and his household. the fascinating and well-captioned exhibits offer real insights into the lifestyle of a bhutanese noble family.
ura village (located in tang valley, bumthang): after one & a half hours drive from bumthang passing through sheep pastures & catching glimpse of the mount gangkar puensum from ura la, one reaches here. the village has about 50 or so cluster traditional houses of weavers and villagers. the people of this region are primarily sheep and yak herders. it is the last settlement before the climb to the highest road pass at thrumsingla. the town is famous for the matsutake festival that is organized every august.
yathra weaving factory (located in the zungye village, chumey bumthang) it is around approx. 17 kms before reaching the main town of bumthang. yathra, hand woven fabric made from the wool of sheep or yak, is most famous textile product of bumthang.. this cloth is used to make scarves, jackets, table cloths, bags, etc. most of the women in this valley earn their lively hood by weaving yathra.
