nohsngithiang falls is known by names like the mawsmai falls or the seven sisters waterfalls. it is one of the tallest waterfalls in india and located at about 4km from cherrapunjee, the falls falls from a height of about 1033 feet and is divided into seven different sections symbolic of seven sister states. located close to the falls are khasi monoliths standing in memory of ancestors
