  • longkhum village is famous for its handlooms and handicrafts. it also commands great views of surrounding hills and valleys. the ao and nagas tribe believe that longkhum is the place where the spirits of the departed souls rest on their way to heaven. mongzu ki also known as eagle’s eye situated at high cliff where eagles (believed to be manisfestations of spirits of dead) have nested for years. the main attraction here is mata kimong a hill top. other attraction here includes longlangba or stone bridge which passes through rhododendrons woods. the village is about 20 kms from mokokchung city.
  • ungma village, this second largest village in nagaland is believed to be the birthplace of the ao tribe which is 10kms from mokokchung. it is a good example of how to integrate old cultures and traditions into modern way of life.
