the people of tripura are mainly non vegetarian with main ingredient of their dish being fish. some of their cuisines include

  • mosdeng serma, another dish of berma, dried fermented fish, mixed with red chillies, tomatoes and garlic. the dis is prepared in chutney form
  • mui borok – the state food with main ingredient being berma (dried fermented dish) cooked without oil
  • kosai bwtwi – another dish prepared using berma, dried fermented fish, mixed with chopped onions, green chillies, tofu, garlic cloves, salt and turmeric powder
  • chauk, traditional beer made by fermented rice.
  • gudok, prepared with boiled vegetables and fermented dish
  • bhangui, sun dried rice boiled with ghee, ginger and onion
