day 01: paro airport – thimphu (65 kms/2 hrs/altitude of thimphu: 2,350 mts.)

after completion of immigration formalities at the paro airport exit door, you will be met by your bhutanese guide and get transferred to capital city of bhutan, thimphu. enroute stop at chuzom. on arrival in thimphu, check in at the hotel. evening free for leisure. In the evening you could look into taking a dive at the indoor heated swimming pool and swim till your heart’s content. overnight at the taj tashi in thimphu.

day 02: thimphu sightseeing

after breakfast you would be taken for tour of thimphu city. you would be visiting kuensel phodrang; national memorial chorten; folk heritage museum; changangkha lhakhang, motithang takin reserve. in the evening visit tashichho dzong. evening free for leisure. you can choose to have a cup of tea at rimps, the tea lounge in the taj and enjoy a drink at ara, music themed bar on direct payment basis. overnight at taj tashi in thimphu.

day 03: thimphu – punakha / wangdue sightseeing (77 kms/2 hrs/altitude of punakha: 1,310 mts.)

after breakfast, you will be driven to punakha, the former capital of bhutan. on the way, stop at immigration check point in hongtsho village to get the permit stamped which is to be returned in your return journey. later halt at dochula pass. on arrival in punakha visit punakha dzong and chimi lhakhang. evening is free for leisure. in the evening you can choose to revive your senses and restore your spirit at dhensa spa on direct payment payment. Overnight at the dhensa boutique in punakha / wangdue.

day 04: punakha / wangdue – paro sightseeing (140 kms/4 hrs/altitude of paro: 2,280 mts.)

after breakfast, you would be driven to paro. on the way, stop at immigration check point in hongtsho village to return the permit which was stamped earlier. enroute stop at tamchog lhakhang. continue your drive to paro. on arrival at paro visit ta dzong; nemi zam bridge and kyichu lakhang. later check in at the hotel. evening free for leisure. on return to the hotel you can spend time in the elegant hub where books and magazines of various kinds are kept at your disposal. the area is also equipped with board games of various kind to keep one engaged. the nearby latitude bar can serve as an interesting escape for coffee or a drink. you would also witness a special ‘sundowner’ ritual performed during the evening where you will experience the transition from day to night with the lighting of the lamps and candles. overnight at le meridien in paro.

day 05: paro sightseeing

after breakfast visit taktsang monastery (tiger’s nest). on the way drive past drukgel dzong. evening is free for leisure. you can spend time on the outstanding outside deck of the hotel which gives a compelling view of the himalaya and the river. you can also strollin the outside lawn in the riverfront or even go near the river to get up-close view of the marvellous Himalayan beauty at hand. overnight at the le meridien in paro.
